About Me

Hi! My name is Keira (in the blue dress above) and this is my first wordpress blog. My introduction usually includes the fact that I grew up in the Okanagan close to Skaha lake, I have 3 younger siblings: a brother (whom a surprisingly large number of people seem to know) and two sisters, and I like math. I did my undergrad degree in physics with a minor in math at UVic, my favourite course was Nuclear Physics because we got to build particle accelerators in the form of Van de Graaf generators. I am excited to be a teacher so that I can share my love for math and physics with my students, and demonstrate that although rare, women in physics do exist and that pursuing dreams in STEM is possible!
